North Leicestershire Tour (A Coach Trip in Leicestershire)
"North Leicestershire Tour" is one of the many Coach Trips devised and led by the well known Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.
These excursions are an excellent way of learning some Local History.
This is one of the morning tours, which are particularly popular with people who do not want to be out all day.
The coach leaves St. Margarets Bus Station in Leicester at 9.30 am, and is due back about 2pm.
The format for these trips is that one stays on the coach almost all the time, while Colin gives his inimitable commentary. However, halfway round, usually around 11.30am, a stop is made where tea, coffee, cakes etc can be bought. This is always somewhere interesting, such as a farm, museum or garden centre.
This tour is around the Northern parts of the lovely county of Leicestershire, including the fascinating towns of Loughborough and Shepshed and the ancient granite rocks of Charnwood Forest.
Large parts of this area are now being developed as the National Forest.
