Norfolk Tour (A Coach Trip in Norfolk)
"Norfolk Tour" is one of the popular Coach Trips devised and led by Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.
These excursions are a fine way of learning some Local Histopry.
This is a tour around the historic county of Norfolk, the Northern half of East Anglia with a long coastline and lots of old market towns.
The coach leaves St. Margarets Bus Station in Leicester at 8am, and is expected back about 9pm.
Colin gives his customary commentary along the way, bringing to life the many fascinating and historic places encountered along the route. This is one of the aspects that make his trips quite unique.
There are three stops, of about an hour each.
Thetford is an ancient market town which was the Anglo-Saxon seat of a Bishop until superseded by Norwich. More recently, the town played the part of Walmington-on-Sea as "Dad`s Army" was filmed in the town.
Cromer is a delightful seaside town with an outstanding parish church and famous shows at the end of the pier, while equally famous are the crabs that are caught here.
Hunstanton is that rarity, a Norfolk seaside town that faces West across The Wash. It also possesses celebrated striped cliffs.
There is also a short stop at Walsingham, the destination for pilgrimages for several hundred years.
