New Forest Tour (A Coach Trip in New Forest)
The “New Forest Tour” is a Coach Trip devised and led by the Leicester-based Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.
These excursions are a most enjoyable way to soak up some Local History.
The coach leaves St. Margarets Bus Station in Leicester at 8am, and will return about 9.30pm.
This is an “Autumn Colours Tour”, designed to show the trees in all their Autumn finery of russet and gold. The New Forest is a splendid wooded area in Hampshire.
There are three stops, each of about an hour.
The first of these is at Lyndhurst, where the Verder’s Court still deals with the ancient rights of the foresters.
Then at Lymington, a pretty market town on the coast. There are ferries from here to the Isle of Wight, as there have been since 1200.
The last stop is at Christchurch, where the famous Priory is now the longest parish church in England.
