Hadleigh (A Guided Walk in Hadleigh (Essex))

"Hadleigh" is one of the popular Guided Walks devised and led by the well known Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours, who hails originally from this part of Essex.

These walks are enjoyable way to soak up some Local History.

The starting point is outside St. James the Less Church in the centre of the little town of Hadleigh (Essex).

The route follows Hadleigh's old High Street, and along an old green lane, before arriving at the impressive ruins of Hadleigh Castle, where there also extensive views across the estuary of the River Thames to Kent.

Colin also talks about the Salvation Army, who have had a colony here for many years and now operate an excellent tearooms. He also talks about the feared 19th century cunning man known as Cunning Murrell.

A place on 'Hadleigh' costs £5.50 per person, or £3.50 if paying in advance. The guided walk begins at St. James the Less Church, and is running on:
