Cotswolds Tour (A Coach Trip in Cotswolds)
The "Cotswolds Tour" is a Coach Trip devised and led by Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours, the well-known Blue Badge Guide who organises these excursions throughout the year.
These excursions are an enjoyable way of learning some Local History.
The coach leaves St. Margarets Bus Station, in the centre of Leicester, at 8am and is expected back around 9.30pm.
Colin gives his usual commentary along the way, bringing towns, villages and countryside to life in his own inimitable style.
The Cotswolds constitute one of the most picturesque areas of England, with many showplace towns and villages which have been much photographed because of their beauty.
There are three stops, each of approximately an hour.
Broadway nestles at the foot of the Cotswolds escarpment, below the steep Fish Hill, and has a collection of tea shops and gift shops along a very pretty village street.
Burford is a beautiful old town whose High Street leads down to the charming River Windrush, near which is the historic and intriguing parish church.
Cirencester is a thriving market town which was an important Roman city, and has one of the most magnificent parish churches in England.
There is an additional stop at Bourton-on-the-Water, with its charming footbridges across the Windrush, which tinkles happily beside the village street.
