Boyhood Memories (A Guided Walk in Prittlewell)
"Boyhood Memories" is a Guided Walk devised and led by the well known Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.
It looks at the area around Westcliff and Prittlewell where he grew up, hence the title.
The walk starts outside St. Marys Church at Prittlewell.
It takes in the old village centre of Prittlewell, as well as West Road, where he lived as a boy, and Hamlet Court Road, still as then a thriving shopping centre.
This walk should be interesting to people who are either younger than Colin or have moved into the area in the intervening period, and who are unaware of how the area previously looked.
It should also appeal to those who are Colin`s age or older, who may well be pleased to be reminded of some of the features which existed in the years after the war.
