Walk and Talk Along New Walk
I led two short Guided Walks recently along the historic New Walk in Leicester.
The walks were for the Adult Education Centre and organised by my wife Anne and her colleagues at the centre, as part of a week to encourage Leicester City Council employees to widen their horizons and try new interests.
The two walks took place on the same day during the lunch period, and a good number of council staff took part.
I took them a short distance up New Walk, the unique Georgian walkway which is on the line of the Roman road from Leicester (one of the oldest towns in the country) to Colchester (the oldest town in the country), as far as the splendid New Walk Museum.
Everybody enjoyed it, and many said they had no idea that it would be so interesting!
