Trip to Hereford and Hay-on-Wye
I recently went as a passenger on one of Woods Coaches` trips, this time to Hereford and Hay-on-Wye.
Although I run my own excursions by coach, I enjoy going on other people`s trips. After all, I can sit back without being in charge of anything! And Woods are the company from whom I hire coaches.
Having left St. Margarets Bus Station in Leicester, we travelled across country until we arrived at the Apple Barn Restaurant at Evesham Country Park, for a refreshment stop.
Then it was across to Hereford, where it was nice to have another couple of hours exploring this fascinating cathedral city. Apart from Hereford Cathedral, I visited the Museum and Art gallery, where there was an exhibition of illustrations by Edward Ardizzone.
From there we went to Hay-on-Wye. Just inside Wales, this is the little town that is now rightly famous for its enormous number of bookshops.
On the way home, we stopped at Strensham Services.
And as always, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
