Successful Trip to Ripon
I led another of my very successful Coach Trips recently, his time to the historic cathedral city of Ripon in Yorkshire.
As always, we started from St. Margarets Bus Station in Leicester in the morning, and of course this time headed Northwards.
The morning coffee stop is always at somewhere of interest in its own right. This time it was the Yorkshire Sculpture Park at West Bretton.
From there, we took a pleasant route through Wetherby, Knaresborough and Ripley, before arriving at Ripon.
Once there, I led the Guided Walk around this fascinating old city, pointing out such things as Ripon Cathedral, the Market Place and the Canal Basin.
Most of the party visited the magnificent cathedral, of course, including St. Wilfrid`s crypt.
On the way back, we made our coffee stop at Tibshelf Services.
My Visitors Book attracted such comments as "walk interesting as usual", "wonderful trip to Ripon, with so much to see in a small place", "I did not realise that Ripon had so much to admire", "we saw so much on the Guided Walk" and "thank you Colin for recommending the fish and chips".
