Salisbury Trip Was a Great Success
I recently led another of the very popular Coach Trips which I organise from Leicester in my capacity as a Blue Badge Guide. This time it was "Salisbury".
If you have not been on any of these excursions, I strongly urge you to give them a try. England has so many beautiful places and so much history.
This time, having left St. Margarets Bus Station as always, we travelled Southwards to the outskirts of Oxford, and made our coffee stop at the Notcutts Garden Centre at Nuneham Courtenay.
Then it was on to Salisbury, where I led a Guided Walk around the heart of this historic cathedral city. I showed the party, among other things, the magnificent Salisbury Cathedral and its spacious close, the enormous Market Place and the ornate Poultry Cross.
My wife Anne came with me on this trip, and after the walk we had a closer look at the cathedral and also St. Thomas Church.
On the way back, we stopped at Northampton (formerly Rothersthorpe) Services.
Comments in my Visitors` Book include "one of the best rips we have been on", "our first trip with Colin but it won`t be our last!", "appreciated scenic route and interesting info", "enjoyed everything about Salisbury", "very well orgainsed coach trip and informative Guided Walk", "beautiful old buildings, Colin as eloquent as ever", and "lots to see in Salisbury so well worth coming".
There are three more Coach Trips between now and the end of the year. "Vale of Belvoir Tour" is one of the morning trips; "Thetford Forest Tour" is this year`s Autumn Colours Tour; and "Chester" includes a Guided Walk around this splendid cathedral city.
There are still places left on all these if you would like to book.
