Meet the Players Session at Grace Road
I went to an interesting meeting recently organised by the Leicestershire Cricket Society at Grace Road in Leicester.
The meeting took place shortly after the start of the new season, and was well attended.
The panel of speakers consisted of David Smith, the former Warwickshire batsman who is Leicestershire`s new Chief Executive; Tim Boon, former Leicestershire batsman who is is now Head Coach; and Tom New, the talented young wicket-keeper / batsman.
The meeting heard of the club`s ambitions, as well as their justification of policies which are not entirely popular, in particular the enormous number of Kolpak players, largely from South Africa.
It certainly was an interesting meeting.
