London Walks Were Much Enjoyed
I led two Guided Walks in London recently. Twice a year I have a day in the capital when I lead two different Guided Walks.
This time they were two new ones.
"London`s Lost Riverside" caught quite a lot of people`s imagination. The riverside concerned was not that of the obvious River Thames, but of the much lesser known River Fleet, which still flows below London`s streets, and was used as part of the route for the world`s first underground railway.
Although this is rarely noticed, the valley of the Fleet is still quite obvious today, and Holborn Viaduct spans it.
"Alleyways of London" is another of my atmospheric walks around Old London Town. This one delves in and out of some of the courtyards and passageways that give London some of its period charm.
My next London Walks will take place on Saturday 10th April. At 1pm it`s "Bow Bells", and at 5pm "Haunted Theatreland".
You can book for these as early as you like.
