Did You Miss the Fosse Way Tour?
There was another very nice Coach Tour recently, in the series which I run from Leicester throughout the year.
This time it was the "Fosse Way Tour".
We set out from St. Margarets Bus Station, as always, and proceeded down the Fosse Way, that wonderful old Roman road that runs from Lincoln through Leicester and the Cotswolds, ultimately heading for Exeter.
Along the way, wide vistas were to be seen on either side of the road, as we proceeded through Halford, Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold.
Bourton-on-the-Water was where we made our afternoon stop. Everybody had a very pleasant couple of hours there, and there was much consumption of cream teas and ice cream, and much strolling beside the charming little River Windrush.
We came back by way of Chipping Norton, and made a coffee stop at Northampton Services, formerly known as Rothersthorpe.
Everybody had a lovely time, and my Visitors` Book acquired such comments as "an excellent afternoon`s outing", "always an enjoyable trip - very comfortable journey" and "a lovely outing - thank you".
