A Delightful Cuise on the Thames
I went on another Coach Trip organised by Woods Coaches of Leicester recently, this time to the Cotswolds with a cruise on the River Thames.
I always enjoy going on other people’s trips, as I can still see interesting things while somebody else is in charge!
This time we went first, in the morning, to Moreton-in-Marsh, a really nice town in Gloucestershire. I was ready for a coffee by this time, but unfortunately the tea shop which I usually frequent in Moreton has closed down.
However, I went to Tilly’s, which I had not patronised before. It was excellent - a very acceptable cup of coffee, and a very nice toasted teacake. The price was a little on the expensive side, but this was justified by the quality and by the efficient, friendly and speedy service. I shall visit Tilly’s again.
Then it was on to Cirencester. This is a town that I know very well, and where I will be taking my own Coach Trip, with my Guided Walk, on Monday 21st August. Cirencester is a historic old market town with a very impressive parish church.
We then went on to Lechlade, and boarded a boat called “The Adventuress” for a delightful cruise down the Thames, going through St. John’s Lock. We had a cream tea on board – that was great, too!
What a nice day.
