Middlethorpe Hall (York)
Middlethorpe Hall is a historic house in York.
It is situated in Bishopthorpe Road.
It is a handsome William and Mary mansion, and stands near York Racecourse.
The hall was built for Thomas Barlow, from a family of Sheffield ironmasters and cutlers, who acquired the manor in 1698, had the hall built in 1702, and took his son on the Grand Tour, during which he died in France.
It now operates as a hotel.
