Queen Mary`s Dolls House (Windsor)
Queen Mary`s Dolls House is a delightful little building at Windsor.
It was planned in 1921 as a gift to Queen Mary, wife of George V, and designed by Edwin Lutyens.
The house is 5 feet tall and 8.5 feet wide, and is a perfect miniaturisation of a Royal palace. It stands in a darkened room with its roof lifted, so that all the details can be seen.
Everything in the house works, and the tiny volumes in the Library were written by such authors as Belloc, Chesterton, Hardy and Kipling.
