Wigan North Western Station (Wigan)

Wigan North Western Station is one of two railway stations serving Wigan in Greater Manchester.

The other is Wigan Wallgate Station, across the road.

The first station on the site was replaced in 1838.

Trains come from Birmingham by way of Stafford, Crewe and Warrington.

They continue to Preston, Lancaster and Carlisle.

Another line runs to St. Helens, Prescot and Liverpool.

Another goes to Atherton, Salford and Manchester.

There was formerly another station named Wigan Central Station.
