Welshpool Station (Welshpool)
Welshpool Station is the railway station serving the Welsh town of Welshpool.
It is a few minutes walk from the town centre.
The original station was closed when the railway line was moved to accommodate a bypass road. The Old Station is now in use as a shopping and restaurant complex.
There is another station named Welshpool Raven Square on the Welshpool and Llanfair Railway.
Welshpool is on the important cross country line from Shrewsbury.
The line continues to Caersws, Machynlleth and Dovey Junction, where it divides.
One part goes to Aberystwyth, while the other runs to Tywyn, Barmouth, Porthmadog, Criccieth and Pwllheli.
