Walsingham Abbey (Walsingham)
Walsingham Abbey is the remains of a historic building, actually a priory, at Walsingham, actually Little Walsingham, in Norfolk.
Set in attractive gardens with river walks, the priory is reached through the Shirehall Museum, whose entrance is in the village centre.
The priory was Augustinian, and a very famous place indeed in the Middle Ages, Walsingham having been a place of pilgrimage since the 11th century.
The Shirehall contains a Georgian magistrates` court, and has displays on the history of the village.
