Coalhouse Fort (Tilbury)
Coalhouse Fort is a historic defensive building at Tilbury in Essex.
It is situated in Princess Margaret Road at East Tilbury.
The fort has an attractive country park setting beside the River Thames, and has links with centuries of coastal defence.
Coalhouse Fort is a fine example of Victorian military architecture, and was operational throughout two World Wars.
