St. Mary`s Church (Thame)
St. Mary`s Church is the parish church of the old Oxfordshire market town of Thame.
It stands some way from the town centre in a delightful close, with an attractive central tower.
The church dates from the 13th century and is largely Decorated and Perpendicular.
The mediaeval choir stalls came from Thame Abbey at the Dissolution of the Monasteries.
The tomb of Lord Williams, chief befactor of the town, who died in 1559, together with his wife, has a suitable position in the centre of the chancel.
