Gainsborough`s House (Sudbury)
Gainsborough`s House is a historic house in the old Suffolk market town of Sudbury.
It is situated in Gainsborough Street.
The house dates from the 16th century, with a Georgian frontage. There is an attractive walled garden.
It is the birthplace of Thomas Gainsborough, one of England`s finest painters.
The house is now a memorial to the artist and an arts centre, housing more of Gainsborough`s work than any other gallery, as well as hosting a varied programme of exhibitions.
