Seafront (Southend)
The Seafront at Southend in Essex is what most visitors come for.
Southend is on the North side of the estuary of the River Thames, where it enters the North Sea.
It has always been regarded as a place with wonderful air, indeed Sir John Betjeman said that the air is like wine.
The Seafront stretches for seven miles, from Leigh in the West through Chalkwell, Westcliff, Southend itself and Thorpe Bay to Shoeburyness.
The Seafront in the central area includes such famous attractions as Southend Pier, Adventure Island, the Kursaal and Sea Life Centre.
