Southampton Station (Southampton)

Southampton Station is the railway station that serves the major city and seaport of Southampton in Hampshire.

It was built between 1838 and 1840 by the outstanding railway architect William Tite.

Trains from London leave from Waterloo Station, and arrive by way of Woking, Basingstoke and Winchester.

Southampton is also on an important cross country line. Trains come from Portsmouth, Cosham and Fareham, and continue to Salisbury, Bath and Bristol.

Another line runs through the New Forest to Bournemouth, Poole and Weymouth.
