Smeaton`s Tower (Plymouth)
Smeaton`s Tower is a fascinating attraction in the historic maritime city of Plymouth.
It is situated on the famous Plymouth Hoe, where Francis Drake is said to have played bowls while the Spanish Armada approached.
Smeaton`s Tower is the upper section of the Eddystone Lighthouse, originally built by the great engineer John Smeaton. It has been reconstructed on the Hoe, and affords magnificent views from the top.
Nearby is the modern attraction Plymouth Dome.
