St. Marys Church (Nottingham)

St. Mary's is the main parish church of Nottingham.

It is situated in the Lace Market area, which corresponds roughly with the original Anglo-Saxon town.

The church is Perpendicular, with a cruciform shape and an excellent tower with eight pinnacles, which rises to 126 feet.

Inside the old South porch is an art nouveau door, created by Henry Wilson in 1904.

The nave is exceptionally wide, and contains a Madonna and Child by Fra Bartolommeo, the pupil of Raphael.
