Dixie Grammar School (Market Bosworth)
The Dixie Grammar School is a mediaeval foundation funded by the Dixie family of Market Bosworth.
The main school building stands in Station Road on the edge of the Market Place. It was designed by the Leicester architect Thomas Cook, and built in 1828, in a Tudor style.
There are a number of other associated buildings nearby.
Dr Samuel Johnson was a master at the school as a young man, and one of its pupils was Thomas Hooker, credited with the establishment of democracy in America.
