Congregational Chapel (Maldon)
The Congregational Chapel is a splendid building in the old Essex maritime town of Maldon.
It stands back from the road, in the manner of a good many non-conformist chapels, near the top of Market Hill.
The chapel was built in 1801, and received a new frontage in 1860.
A 19th century minister was Joseph Bilio. His ability to speak persuasively and very quickly brought a new expression into the language, when industrious people were said to do things "like Bilio".
