Victoria Embankment (London)
Victoria Embankment is one of the streets that run along beside the River Thames in London.
These streets came into being as part of Joseph Bazalgette`s Victorian modernisation of London`s sewers.
There are a number of vessels permanently moored along the embankment, and some of them are open to the public as bars and restaurants. Among these are HMS Chrysanthemum, a sloop from the First World War, and the paddle steamer Tattershall Castle.
Also along the embankment is Cleopatras Needle.
