Dartmouth House (London)

Dartmouth House is a splendid house in the French style, in London.

It is situated in Charles Street, in Mayfair.

Behind two Georgian facades, the house was rebuilt in 1890 for the wealthy banker Edard Baring, 1st Lord Revelstoke. It was later acquired by the 6th Earl of Dartmouth, and is now the English Speaking Union club.

The architect was W. Allwright. He created an entrance and main reception room in the Louis XIV style. The fireplace was originally in Robert Adam`s Derby House in Grosvenor Square.
