St. Peter`s Church (Kirby Bellars)

St. Peter`s Church is the parish church of Kirby Bellars in Leicestershire.

It dates back to the 13th century, and is built mostly of the local ironstone.

The West tower is impressive, and is surmounted by a beautiful spire.

There is a very wide South aisle, which had probably been rebuilt to acommodate a chantry.

Two of the nave windows contain fragments of 14th century stained glass.

Two alabaster monuments in the South aisle date back to around 13460, and are probably of Sir Roger Beler II and his lady.
