Hanseatic Warehouse (Kings Lynn)
The Hanseatic Warehouse is one of the most spectacular historic buildings in the ancient Norfolk town of Kings Lynn.
This wonderful long timber framed building can be found hidden away in St. Margaret's Lane, one of the narrow lanes that lead from near St. Margarets Church through to the South Quay beside the tidal River Great Ouse.
The warehouse was built in 1475 and used by the Hanseatic League, a great merchants' maritime league that operated from Britain to the Baltic Sea, until 1751.
Today it is used as offices by Norfolk County Council.
