St. Hubert`s Church (Idsworth)
St. Hubert`s Church is the parish church of the deserted village of Idsworth in Hampshire.
Access is by a track across a field, not far from the Havant to London railway line.
St. Hubert`s was dedicated in 1053.
It has some excellent wall paintings, including a hunting scene involving St. Hubert, and Salome dancing before Herod, with the head of John the Baptist on a platter.
A stained glass window shows St. Hubert in prayer beside a tree, while in the background is a stag with a crucifix between its antlers.
