River and Rowing Museum (Henley-on-Thames)

The River and Rowing Museum is an excellent attraction at Henley-on-Thames.

It is situated in Mill Meadows.

Designed by David Chipperfield, it is an elegant modern building beside row of poplars next to the River Thames.

Among the subjects featured are rowing boats throughout the ages, from triremes to the boat used in the Olympic exploits of Steve Redgrave and Matthew Pinsent.

Also included is the River Thames and its story, as well as the history of Henley itself.

And Ratty and his friends feature in a nod to "The Wind in the Willows".
