The People`s Park (Halifax)
The People`s Park is a historic ornamental park at Halifax in West Yorkshire.
The main entrance is in Kingcross Street.
It is one of the finest examples of a Joseph Paxton park, and was created in 1857 and donated to the town by wealthy local industrialist Sir Francis Crossley MP.
A statue of Sir Francis was erected in 1860, in recognition of his generosity.
The park contains a terrace, high mounds and embankments, win ding walks, a serpentine lake and fountains.
