Chart Gunpowder Mills (Faversham)

Chart Gunpowder Mills are a historic site in the ancient town of Faversham in Kent.

The mills are situated to the West of the town centre, on the stream which becomes Faversham Creek, with access from Stonebridge Way or South Road.

Having been opened in 1760, this is the oldest surviving gunpowder mill in the world.

It supplied gunpwder to Admiral Nelson for use at the Battle of Trafalgar, and to the Duke of Wellington for use at the Batle of Waterloo.
