Eltham Lodge (Eltham)
El;tham Lodge is a historic house at Eltham in South East London.
It is situated in Court Road.
The nearby Eltham Palace was leased from the Crown by Sir John Shaw, banker to Charles II. He let it as a farm, and commissioned Hugh May, in 1664, to build this new mansion a mile to the East.
The Royal Blackheath Golf Club can be found here. It is said to be the oldest golf club in England, having been founded by Scottish golfers attending the coronation of James I in 1603.
