Darlington Station (Darlington)
Darlington Station is the railway station that serves the market town and industrial centre of Darlington.
Originally known as Bank Top, this grand station was built by William Bell in 1884, and boasts a Clock Tower.
Darlington is on the main line from Kings Cross Station in London. Trains arrive via Peterborough, Grantham, Newark, Doncaster and York.
They continue to Durham, Newcastle-on-Tyne, Berwick-on-Tweed and Edinburgh.
A busy branch line runs to Middlesbrough and Redcar, or Stockton-on-Tees, Hartlepool and Sunderland.
Another shorter branch goes to Darlington North Road and Bishop Auckland.
Yet another short line ran to Croft.
