Carnforth Station (Carnforth)
Carnforth Station is the railway station that serves the town of Carnforth in Lancashire.
Services for the Lake District and Scotland now bypass Carnforth.
Today trains run Westwards to Grange-over-Sands, Ulverston and Barrow-in-Furness.
The line Eastwards runs to Giggleswick, Clitheroe, Blackburn and Manchester.
Carnforth Station was the setting for the famous 1945 film "Brief Encounter", starring Celia Johnson and Trevor Howard, directed by David Lean from a play by Noel Coward.
In 2003, the famous Refreshment Room was reopened as a tourist attraction, along with a Vistor Centre.
