St. John`s Church (Cardiff)
St. John`s Church is the major church of Cardiff in Wales.
It dates from 1453 and is the only mediaeval church still standing in the city centre.
The tower, with its slender spire, is 130 feet high and known as the Somerset Tower because of its similarities to towers common in that county. It was erected in 1473 by Lady Anne Neville, wife of Richard of Gloucester, later to become Richard III.
The Jacobean Herbert Chapel has a great deal of beauty.
