St. Mildreds Church (Canterbury)
St. Mildreds is one of the oldest churches in the ancient cathedral city of Canterbury.
It can be found in Church Lane, just inside the City Walls.
Although it is largely mediaeval, there is some 8th century stonework in the church, and in fact there is quite a lot left of the Anglo Saxon church. There are also some reused Roman tiles.
St. Mildreds was the scene of the wedding of Izaak Walton, author of "The Compleat Angler".
The churchyard is rather attractively natural looking, as opposed to manicured.
