Holy Cross Church (Canterbury)

Holy Cross is one of several mediaeval churches in the historic cathedral city of Canterbury.

It stands beside the Westgate and the River Stour.

The church was built in 1380 by Archbishop Simon of Sudbury, at the same time that he had the Westgate rebuilt. The church had previously been over the gate, an unusual arrangement of which there is still an example at Winchester.

Holy Cross makes good use of knpped flint.
