Belton House (Belton (Lincolnshire))
Belton House is an excellent country house at Belton (Lincolnshire).
A Restoration building, it was built for the influential Brownlow family in 1685 and has been attributed to Christopher Wren.
The house contains excellent interiors, furniture, silver, Old Masters, tapestries and carvings by Grinling Gibbons.
There are formal gardens, a landscaped park, an Orangery and an adventure playground for children. Beside the lake is a restored boathouse.
Belton House is now in the care of the National Trust.
