Blagrave`s House (Barnard Castle)
Blagrave`s House is a town house at Barnard Castle in County Durham.
It is situated in The Bank.
Built in the Middle Ages, it had a basement for storage and business, and steps leading from the street to the main rooms, with bay windows.
Known as the Boar`s Head in the Elizabethan period, it seems to have got its name from the white boar, the symbol of Richard III.
Oliver Cromwell is believed to have stayed in the house in 1648.
The front wall has statues of four grotesque musicians.
