South Wigston
South Wigston is a small town in Leicestershire, at the Southern edge of the Leicester conurbation.
Taking its name from nearby Wigston Magna, it should more logically be called, in view of its situation, West Wigston.
South Wigston grew up in the 19th century around the railways and canal.
St. Thomas' Church, built in 1893, has a splendid brick tower, and is a well known local landmark.
Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby is available to lead Guided Walks around South Wigston for groups.
