Shardlow

Shardlow is a village in Derbyshire, 6 miles from Derby.

It was a major inland port on the Trent and Mersey Canal of 1777. Some of the buildings survive.

Shardlow Hall was built in the late 17th century.

The former bridge over the Trent was damaged by floods in 1947, and a new one built.

There is now a thriving marina at Shardlow.
