Porthcurno

Porthcurno is a village in Penwith in Cornwall, 3 miles from Penzance.

The name means "the harbour of Cornwall".

There is a sandy bay, with white sand, and granite cliffs in this highly scenic place.

Porthcurno is famous for the unique Minack Theatre, perched on the cliuff edge 200 feet above the waves. It was cut out of the cliffs in the 1920s, and is used for performances of plays.

A deep water telegraph and telephone cable emerges from the ocean here.
