Marston

Marston is a village in Lincolnshire, 4 miles from Grantham.

The Thorold family came to Marston in the 14th century as Lords of the Manor, and are still here.

St. Mary`s Church, with its strong broach spire, dates from the 13th century, and contains splendid Thorold monuments. In the churchyard is the largest and oldest laburnum tree in England.

The long distance Viking Way runs through the village, and there is an old bridge across the River Witham.

Just outside Marston is the excellent Olde Barn Hotel.

Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby is available to lead Guided Walks around Marston for groups.
