Hathern

Hathern is a village in Leicestershire, a little to the North of Loughborough.

St. Peters Church dates from the 13th century, and has an Anglo-Saxon font.

The fine Village Cross, at the junction of Church Street and Cross Street, dates from the 14th century, but was partly replaced in 1920.

John Heathcote was living in Hathern when he invented his lace making machine, opening a factory in Loughborough and moving to Tiverton when it was attacked by Luddites.

Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby is available to lead Guided Walks around Hathern for groups.
