Epworth
Epworth is a small town on the Isle of Axholme in Lincolnshire, 9 miles from Gainsborough.
It is world famous as the home of Methodism.
John Wesley (1703) and his brother Charles (1707) were born at the Old Rectory, which was later, in 1709, burned down by a mob who disagreed with the views of their father, the Rector Samuel Wesley.
The Old Rectory is now rebuilt and acts as a Visitor Centre.
St. Andrew`s Church has a pleasant setting.
